Hello and welcome to Shalom NoVA's first ever Wine blog! I look forward to sharing my knowledge and passion about wine with you. Please feel free to ask questions, share your own experiences and comment on these posts.
My focus will be mostly kosher wines, but since I get to taste many amazing wines through my job, I will do my best to include things I am discovering about the latest trends and newest brands.
This is an exciting time for kosher wines. Their availability is greater than ever and the quality has surprised me, especially over the past year. The majority of the kosher wines I prefer are blends - they tend to be more balanced and not overly sweet or dry.
An example and my first must-try is a brand called Yogev made by Binyamina. My favorite of the bunch is the Yogev Sauvignon Blanc-Chardonnay blend. The whole brand can be found most places for under $15 a bottle. They also make a Cabernet-Merlot and a Cabernet-Shiraz blend. Hope you enjoy!
